The Sidamo region of Ethiopia is particulary mountainous, and as such farms are usually small and operated traditionally. This means coffee is produced organically, without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides. The Geography of the region also serves to create an array of micro-climates, resulting in coffees from the region having vastly different flavour profiles.
Bona Zuria Washing Station is a Co-op which services farms like these around Bona Zuria village. With farms sitting at 2000 – 2330 MASL, this high altitude is perfect to cultivating exceptionally clean and sweet coffees, and this washed lot is no exception! But don’t let the washed processing fool you, this coffee is still an absolute fruit bomb!
